OF THE 2019 YORK EARLY MUSIC 
INTERNATIONAL YOUNG ARTISTS COMPETITION

 

The competition took place on Saturday 13 July at the National Centre for Early Music.

 

The ten finalists are presented below in order of performance, and are introduced by John Bryan, Professor of Music at the University of Huddersfield and an Artistic Adviser to York Early Music Festival. 

The ensembles performed repertory from the period ranging from the middle ages to the nineteenth century, using historically informed playing techniques, instruments and stylistic conventions.
